We are happy to announce this year’s Australian Institute of Physics WA Student Conference, which is to be held on Thursday the 19th of November 2026 at Curtin University. Each year the conference brings together young researchers from around Western Australia, providing them with the opportunity to present their research in a stimulating and friendly atmosphere. Come along to enjoy a day of networking with industry professionals and talented researchers!
Research students (undergraduate to PhD) are invited to present their work as a 10 minute talk, three-minute-thesis talk, or a poster presentation. We also encourage undergraduate students to attend and learn about physics research opportunities in Western Australia.
Relevant topics include but are not limited to:
- Astronomy, astrophysics, and cosmology
- Biophysics
- Computational physics
- Experimental physics
- Geophysics
- Medical physics
- Theoretical physics
- Applied mathematics
There will be a catered morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, opportunities to meet and hear from industry and academic professionals (see our sponsors below), and prizes for the best presentations!
Registration
Conference attendance is free of charge for students.
Abstract submission and registration will open mid-September.
