We are happy to announce this year’s Australian Institute of Physics WA Student Conference, which is to be held on the 13th of November 2024 at the University of Western Australia. Each year the conference brings together young researchers from around Western Australia, providing them with the opportunity to present their research in a stimulating and friendly atmosphere. Come along to enjoy a day of networking with industry professionals and talented researchers!
Honours, Masters and PhD students are invited to present their research in the form of either a 10 minute talk or a poster presentation. We also invite undergraduate students to attend and learn about physics research opportunities available in Western Australia. Undergraduate students who have completed a research placement are encouraged to present a poster.

We also encourage students working in other physics related fields to participate, such as physical chemistry, engineering, spectroscopy etc.
There will be a catered morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, a networking session to meet with industry professionals (see our sponsors below, who will be attending with trade displays), and prizes for the best presentations!

Conference attendees are encouraged to attend the WA AIP AGM held at the end of the student conference at the Ken & Julie Michael Building, University of Western Australia in Crawley, WA, Australia.
This convivial in-person event brings together members of the AIP (WA) community for our annual AGM and an evening of networking, including a talk by Dr Danka Sampson, recently named a 2024 Young Tall Poppy. The evening will kick-off with pre-dinner drinks and networking, followed by a quick AGM for members (students are encouraged to attend), then dinner and drinks and a talk by Dr Sampson.
