Join us for the annual Einstein Lecture, a fascinating exploration of lasers, titled Lasers: Making Light Work. Presented by Professor David Coutts, an expert in photonics, physics, and astronomy, this event is hosted by the Australian Institute of Physics and Macquarie University Faculty of Science and Engineering. Learn more about Professor David Coutts.

Professor Coutts, Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, will delve into the world of lasers, showcasing his research in building innovative laser technologies, manipulating laser colours and properties, and using lasers to tackle diverse challenges, from measuring complex fluid flows to detecting planets orbiting distant stars.

During the lecture, we'll discuss the science behind lasers and showcase practical demonstrations that highlight the astonishing capabilities of these powerful beams of light.

Calling all high school and university students, science enthusiasts, or those simply fascinated by lasers! This is an event that you don’t want to miss and is the perfect lead-up to Astronomy Open Night on Saturday 23 September, offering a sneak peek of the scientific wonders awaiting you.

Light refreshments will be served at this event.
