Physics at the Town Hall, Melbourne
A young Einstein and his grand entrance

With ABC's Bernie Hobbs as the master of ceremonies, the Melbourne Physics forum for the Einstein International Year of Physics was a day crammed with physics fun, demonstrations and audience participation for senior school students and the general public. The unitiated were introduced to Einstein's four big ideas from 1905 and encountered the ghost of Melbourne's own William Sutherland who beat Einstein to one of these ideas.

This picture shows the star of 1905 arriving on his bicycle. The 26 year old “Albert Einstein”, alias actor Ben Evans, arrives to entertain the crowd with his family snapshots and running commentary on his big ideas from 100 years ago.
