Brisbane's Living Heritage Organisation celebrates
Iain Audsley the Events Manager demonstrating a pulley system experiment
St. John's Cathedral, Ann Street, Brisbane. With Rev. John Steele, Rev. Rupert Jeffcoate and Bellcaptain Robert Wirth.

This event, aimed at senior citizens, educators, historians, teachers and students was an outreach activity that brings physics into the lives of people that may not normally think about its influence in everyday life. We ran a tour of our member sites demonstrating the physics involved in the collection or heritage place. For example, the Queensland Performing Arts Centre Museum is a BLHN member and they provided a tour and demonstration of the use of the staging fly system in their theatre with their technicians explaining the mechanics behind this system.

The University of Queensland Physics Museum is also a member and they provided a show demonstrating various theories of physics and how these are applicable in elements of everyday life. Other members involved included St. John’s Cathedral and a talk on elements of physics evident in its architectural design.
