The Australian Institute of Physics, with support from the Department of Education, Science and Training offered two series of seed grants this year, enabling a total of 17 projects to be successfully realised across Australia, as part of the Einstein International Year of Physics celebrations. This AIP grant was used to produce ‘Through Einstein's Eyes,’ a CD oriented multimedia site based around how things look at relativistic speeds. It is aimed at high school to early university level physics students. There are two sections. One is fun and spectacular, including a relativistic rollercoaster ride and a tour of the solar system. The other explores the physics of special relativity. The CD has been distributed with the July/August 2005 issue of ‘Australian Physics,’ to teachers attending workshops at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Canada and to schools that have requested it, as prizes for Science Week activities in Brisbane.
