It's that time of year when certain academic physicists start thinking about “Introductory mechanics.” Over the last year or more, the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education has supported the development of multimedia materials to support first year teaching of Mechanics.
The project, called Physclips, is at www.physclips.unsw.edu.au/ The site contains downloadable film clips and animations to assist with teaching mechanics.
And the multimedia tutorials and the supporting materials may be a useful adjunct to other teaching materials for students.
Any comments from teachers who use it would be gratefully received.
